Literature Text

his eyes spin riddles and his mouth hears
what they say. his lungs are ever thinning
because there is no hope in the air. he works
my heart until it's raw. we are all basic lies.

"rambling man, you're vulnerable in your head."
"this is because there is no lid on my head."
"and why is that?" "see for yourself how
hard it is to keep a thunderstorm inside a jar."

he is a miner for a heart of gold; he hasn't
found one yet. someone said it got sold in
the back of the crocodile-face's truck. he was
lovesick for the moon and angry with the sun.

he peels revelations only when they're ripe.
"morning breaks because it cannot bear its
own beauty." so i put duct tape where ever
he is torn and breathe hopeless particles.

he leans close and i feel the softest segment
of the moon's surface. he tells me my lashes
tumble like stars. sometimes i pretend he can
fit into a smile without it tearing at the hem.

"rambling man, do you love me?"
"to feel is to put your tongue
inside a blender and see
what happens."
i'm not sure what more to say.

WOW! There are so many amazing lines in this poem! My favorites are "his lungs are ever thinning
because there is no hope in the air. he works my heart until it's raw. we are all basic lies."
But especially that very first line of that. Its the real broken beauty of the world.

"see for yourself how
hard it is to keep a thunderstorm inside a jar." is my other favorite. I don't even have words good enough to explain how lovely that line is. <3. There is no lid on his head because its a thunderstorm, uncontainable. So, basically you're saying he is a lunatic, but your wording is so elegant. I love this.

And, so now my dear, you have officially earned a watch from me.
